Abhishek, son-in-law of All India Trinamool Congress general secretary and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, on Thursday sought clarification from the Center on the Pegasus controversy.
In the Lok Sabha, Abhishek was seen chanting “BJP ki Jasoosi nahi Saleki… Danashahi nahi Saleki” (BJP spying will not be allowed. BJP dictatorship will not be tolerated). Covit-19 infection and snooping problem.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 4 pm on Thursday due to rudeness created by the opposition leaders. This is the third adjournment the day after parliament reconvened in the morning amid controversy over the Pegasus project, farmers’ protests and other issues.
Trinamool Congress MPs Sukendu Sehgar Roy met Abhishek and election strategist Prashant Kishore at his residence in Delhi. It was decided at the meeting that TMC MPs should continue to raise the issue of Pegasus surveillance in Parliament every day until Prime Minister Modi or Home Minister Amit Shah comply with their questions.
TMC seeks answers to BJP questions regarding Pegasus:
1. Has the government bought Pegasus? If yes, when?
2. Is the Pegasus software still in use?
3. Will you bring a list of spies?
4. What is the time and date the data was collected?
5. The data is still retained by one company, if yes why?
6. What spied on these people?
7. Which agents requested the data collection?
8. Which person had to be recognized?
9. Which agencies share this data?
This is Abhishek’s first visit to Delhi since his appointment as the All India General Secretary of the TMC. The TMC mouthpiece ‘Jako Bungalow’ went digital on Wednesday, with Abhishek writing an article this time in the first edition, “India needs a Bengali daughter”.
Mamata Banerjee will arrive in Delhi on July 26 and has expressed her desire to meet the opposition leaders to present a strategy to stop the BJP Jakarnath by 2024. In a situation like this, Abhishek’s presence in the state would be as significant as ‘Didir Duth’ and he would now be her ‘Duth’ for the whole nation.
