The awards for the 75th edition of the British Academy Film Awards or BAFTA have been handed out at the ceremony held at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The Power of the Dog, Dune, West Wide Story, among others dominated the list and took home various top honors. These movies also dominated the Oscars 2022 nominations. 1. THE POWER OF THE DOG – NETFLIX
Winner of the Best Film, Benedict Cumberbatch’s The Power of the Dog deserves a space in your binge list. The movie has also bagged two Golden Globes Awards– Best Picture and Best Director and has received 12 nominations at the 94th Oscars. The movie follows charismatic rancher Phil Burbank who inspires fear and awe in those around him. When his brother brings home a new wife and her son, Phil torments them until he finds himself exposed to the possibility of love.
2. WEST SIDE STORY – DISNEY+ HOTSTAR

Actress Ariana DeBose took home the award for Supporting actress for Steven Spielberg’s musical drama. The movie, which also nominated for seven Academy Awards, is an adaptation of a 1957 musical and tells the tale of forbidden love and the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds.
3. DON’T LOOK UP – NETFLIX

Jane Campion won the Best Director trophy for the movie Don’t Look Up† Featuring a stellar cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, the movie is about two astronomers who go on a media tour to warn humankind about a comet approaching the Earth.
4. DUNE – APPLETV+, BOOKMYSHOW STREAM AND YOUTUBE

dune, an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel, was nominated in 11 categories and took home five awards. The movie marksApple’s first historic Best Picture nomination at the Oscars 2022. The story follows a deaf family from Gloucester in Massachusetts and Ruby, the only hearing member of the family. At a very tender age, she looks after her family while trying to maintain her academic curriculum. The movie stars Emilia Jones and Marlee Maitlin in the lead.
6. THE HARDER THEY FALL – NETFLIX
Directed by Jeymes Samuel, the movie features Chase Dillon, DeWanda Wise, Julio Cesar Cedillo and Jonathan Majors. When an outlaw discovers his enemy is being released from prison, he sets on a mission to seek revenge.
7. ENCANTO – DISNEY+ HOTSTAR

encanto revolves around an extraordinary magical family, the Madrigals. Living in the Columbian mountains in a charming place called the Encanto, every member of the family is gifted with a special power and helps the locals around. However, Mirabel, one of the younger members of the Madrigal family, doesn’t receive any power. But when the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, she is the only hope that can save them.
8. NO TIME TO DIE – AMAZON PRIME VIDEO

Daniel Craig’s final stint as James Bond is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga. James Bond is enjoying his life away from active service. But his vacation is cut short when an old CIA friend, Felix Leiter comes asking for help. The mission gets dangerous as this time Bond has to find a villain who is equipped with the new technology. The movie stars Ralph Fiennes, Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Ben Winshaw, Jeffrey Wright, Naomi Harris and others.
