Savukku Shankar is a Journalist and YouTuber who is the founder and writer of the renowned Tamil news website Savukku since 2010. His writing primarily focuses on social issues within Tamil Nadu. He began his career as a clerk in the directorate of vigilance and anti-corruption but came into the limelight when he was arrested for allegedly doing call tracing activity. The Madras High Court has charged Savukku Shankar with contempt of the court for remarks against the judiciary and imprisonment for up to six months. He wrote books like Oozhal – Ulavu – Arasiyal and Modi Maayai. On May 22, the popular real estate firm G Square Company filed an FIR against Savukku Shankar for stating that the company has a link with Tamil Nadu ruling party DMK.
