Sasikala Pushpa is a politician who serves as the deputy leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Tamil Nadu. Sasikala served as the Mayor of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation from 2011 to 2014. She was expelled from (AIADMK) party in 2016 for having an altercation with DMK party MP Tiruchi Siva at Delhi IGI airport. The video of her being harassed in the public by BJP party members went viral on the internet.
In 2016, a 22-year-old maid and her sister filed harassment against Pushpa’s husband Lingesvara Thilakan. But due to some unknown reasons, the maid and her sister withdrew their complaint in 2017. Sasikala Pushpa’s second husband filed a police complaint against her for allegedly letting people inside their home without his knowledge. In February 2022, JJ Nagar police filed a case against Sasikala based on her husband’s complaint that she used their Anna Nagar house for illicit work.
