Sangeeta Phogat is a well-known wrestler, international player, fitness freak, social media star, and fitness coach from Haryana, India. She is a national champion in the 59 Kg freestyle category. She is famously known as the younger sister of a popular freestyle wrestler and Olympic athlete named Geeta Phogat. They became famous for featuring in blockbuster Bollywood movie Dangal.
She got married to Bajrang Punia, a wrestler who won bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics 2020. Sangeeta and her husband Bajrang Punia both met in the training camp before they started dating. In an interview, Mahavir (Pohgat sisters father) was inspired to train her daughter to be a wrestler when Kranam Malleswari became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in 2000 for weight lifting.
