BJP Mumbai leader Mangal Prabhat Lodha met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and reiterated his demand to turn the city-centric Jinnah House of Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah into an arts and cultural center. Lotha, who is also an MLA, called Shah in New Delhi on Tuesday and handed him a letter containing his long-standing demand.
He then tweeted the letter he submitted to Shaw. In the Maharashtra Assembly, the BJP MLA represents the Malabar Hill constituency in south Mumbai, where Jinnah Palace is located.
The Jinnah Palace is planned to be converted into a South Asia center for arts and culture. A related committee was also placed there. I urge you to take over Jinnah House and turn the memories of the painful separation into a cultural center, he said in the letter. Jinnah lived on the property for ten years and plotted to divide the country. Now, the property belongs to the Indian government and the house should be turned into a cultural center, ”the BJP leader said.
Jinnah House is located on an area of 2.5 acres and is located in the highest part of Mumbai.
