Mark Harmon is an American actor. His full name is Thomas Mark Harmon. He is from Burbank, California, United States. Harmon worked as a carpenter before making a success of his acting career. He began his acting career with the TV Series “Ozzie’s Girls” in 1973. He was famous for his role as “Leroy Jethro Gibbs” on the television series “NCIS”.

Mark Harmon was born on September 2, 1951, in Burbank, California. After graduating from high school at Harvard School, Harmon completed a two-year associate degree at Pierce College in Los Angeles, then transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was the starting quarterback for the UCLA Bruins football team in 1972 and 1973. After his sophomore season at Pierce, Harmon had a number of offers from major college football programs, and he ultimately chose UCLA over Oklahoma. Harmon graduated cum laude from UCLA in 1974 with a B.A. in Communications.
Harmon has two older sisters, Kristin Nelson who is a painter and Kelly Harmon who is an actress and model. Harmon has been married to actress Pam Dawber since March 21, 1987.
