West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday described the BJP as a ‘high-loaded viral party’, claiming that the central government had also tapped her phone with the help of Pegasus.
Judges, ministers, political leaders and journalists who tapped or spied on Mamata’s Supreme Court (SC) phone while delivering her speech at the TMC’s Annual Martyrs’ Day Rally (AKC July) from her Calicut home in South Kolkata.
“Sir, this is my humble request to you … please take self-moto knowledge in this matter against the Center because the judges’ phones were also tapped,” Mamta S.C.
He emphasized the importance of unity among opposition leaders to prevent the BJP from returning to power in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, saying, “I do not know what will happen in 2024, but we must begin preparations now. They (pointing to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi) are tapping our phones. Because the Pegasus is dangerous (when its cell phone glows) I put a tape on its (cell phone) camera. Since I am in the national capital from July 27 to July 29, I would like to request senior leaders like Sharad Pawarji to organize a meeting (leaders of the opposition) in Delhi. ”
