Every Fall 2021 Movie and TV Show Coming to Disney+

With new animated shorts, Marvel and Star Wars world premieres, and music documentaries, the Disney+ streaming service will continue to expand its repertoire this fall. There will be no major blockbuster programs such as The Mandalorian or WandaVision available in September, October and November. But there will be some more interesting options. Chances are, the new fall schedule will allow Disney+ to retain existing customers and attract new ones.

Starting in 2021, Disney will simultaneously release movies in theaters and on Disney+, such as Cruella and Jungle Cruise, both with big names. Scarlett Johansson has also filed a lawsuit against Disney for releasing Black Widow on Disney+, with movie owners blaming the distribution strategy for the MCU film’s meager revenues. Disney, perhaps in response to these challenges, has abandoned its co-release plan, announcing that future films like Shang-Chi will not be available on Disney+ until the end of their theatrical run.

What if…? will continue to release weekly episodes through October 9 on Disney+. A new live-action Marvel series will premiere at the end of November, followed by a Star Wars series. There are also a handful of family-friendly movies coming out in the fall.

Happier than ever (September 3)

Rodriguez, who helmed Spy Kids and Alita: Battle Angel, is set to make Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles, his first Disney+ concert film, in September. A full performance of Billie Eilish’s new album will take place at the Hollywood Bowl, accompanied by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and Gustavo Dudamel. In addition to the performance video, animated elements and additional documentary will be used. After the release of The Summer of Soul in 2021 and the announcement of a new major music documentary, Disney+ hopes to become a destination for concert films and other musical documentaries.

Doogie Kamealoha, MD (September 8)

Doogie Kamealoha, MD, a remake of the 1980s blockbuster show Doogie Howser, MD, starring Neil Patrick Harris from How I Met Your Mother, is one of Disney+’s most unusual reboots. Doogie’s female counterpart, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, appears in the Disney+ remake, set in Hawaii. ten half-hour episodes a week in the first season.

SparkShorts (Sept 10)

Pixar employees can develop their own ideas in six months with animated shorts called SparkShorts. On Pixar’s YouTube site, the show debuted in 2019 before being transferred to Disney+. ‘Twenty Something’ and ‘Nona’, the next two short films in the series, will be released on Disney+ on September 10 and 17.

A Spark Story, a feature-length documentary about the SparkShorts initiative, will also be available on Disney+ on September 24. Toy Story and other franchises have benefited from Pixar’s short films in the past, and SparkShorts continues that legacy.

Star Wars: Visions (September 22)

As a new Star Wars animated series, “Star Wars: Visions” takes a different approach. Some of the leading Japanese anime studios have contributed short stories to this collection. To write stories outside the greater continuity, creators can use the components of the world as inspiration. Director Hiroyuki Imaishi of Promare and Kenji Kamiyana of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex are among those who contributed. Each of the nine episodes will be streamed simultaneously in its entirety.

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Stories (October 1)

Following the success of last year’s LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, Disney+ will be offering another holiday special this season that uses LEGO imagery to provide a more comical perspective on the galaxy far, far away. Tony Hale, Christian Slater and other voice actors will be featured in the Halloween special. When The Book of Boba Fett is released in December, the Star Wars service will return to the normal Star Wars story.

Home Sweet Home alone (November 12)

Disney’s highly anticipated Home Alone remake will be available on Netflix in November. In the new film, Archie Yates plays little Max Mercer, who must defend himself from two robbers when left alone. Assisting actors include The Office and Unbreakable. Both Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney from Catastrophe portray the bandits in question. In addition, Kenan Thompson, Pete Holmes and Andy Daly appear in the film.

Hawkeye (24 Nov)

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is finally getting its own weekly comic series after a decade of waiting. With Hailee Steinfeld cast as Kate Bishop, Clint Barton will be preparing her to take the role of Hawkeye. Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena Belova from Black Widow, while Alaqua Cox will reprise her role as Echo, who has her own Marvel series in the works.
