Eternals Official Disney Plus Release Date Revealed For MCU Movie

Eternals Official Disney Plus Release Date

Disney Plus has officially announced when the latest MCU movie Eternals will be available to stream.

Marvel Studios Eternals hit theaters last month to arguably the most mixed reception an MCU movie has yet received. While some have praised the film for Chloe Zhao’s different, more intimate approach to superheroes, others have criticized the film for a variety of reasons, including its script and pace. With the film nearing the end of its cinema run, we now know when the film will be available for fans to stream at home on Disney Plus.

Disney Plus has officially announced that: Eternals will begin streaming on January 12, 2022 — just over two months since it first debuted in theaters. This window is similar to that of an earlier MCU movie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which first hit theaters on September 3, 2021 and was made available to stream on November 12, 2021.

In honor of Disney Plus Day last month, numerous MCU movies were made available to stream via an IMAX Enhanced presentation, preserving the expanded aspect ratio. Considering that Eternals also contained sequences with an extended aspect ratio, it wouldn’t be surprising if it were made available to stream through such a presentation.

Here’s the synopsis for the MCU movie:

The story takes place in two time periods. One storyline is set in the past when they operated as a formidable team and a close-knit family unit. The second storyline takes place in the present, when the group has fallen and split apart, content to live among humans and hide in plain sight. The reigning threat of the Deviants, which once again threatens the very existence of humanity, means that the Eternals must put aside their differences and regroup.

Chloe Zhao directed Eternals from a script she co-wrote with Patrick Burleigh, Kaz Firpo and Ryan Firpo. The Marvel Studios project’s cast includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Salma Hayek as Ajak and Angelina Jolie as Thena.

Eternals is now in cinemas. Stay tuned for all the latest on the future of the film’s characters, new MCU projects on Disney Plus, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
