A Cop is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language spy thriller film directed by Surender Reddy and written by Vakkantham Vamsi. Produced by AK Entertainments and Surender 2 Cinema, the film stars Akhil Akkineni, Mammootty and Sakshi Vaidya. The film is slated for release on December 24, 2021. Thaman was previously chosen as the composer of the film’s score and soundtrack. Later, in September 2021, it was reported that he has been replaced by the Tamil music duo Hiphop Tamizha.
The film was announced in September 2020 by Akhil Akkineni, tentatively titled Akhil 5, with Surender Reddy directing. It was officially launched on Akkineni’s birthday in April 2021, with the title and posters unveiled. A pooja ceremony was held on the launch day.
