The film was officially announced in September 2019. Shooting of this film started in October 2019 in Mumbai but was halted in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. This left the shooting of the film unfinished, after a long vacation of 9 months.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022) – is the second part of the 2008 movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa. In the first part of this movie i.e. Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Akshay Kumar played the lead role and along with him Vidya Balan, Rajpal Yadav and Paresh Rawal were seen in the lead.
But at the same time, in the second part of this movie, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Karthik Aryan will be featured instead of Akshay. With whom Kiara Advani, Tabu, Sanjay Mishra, Tarang Takrani, Anees Bazmee and Govind Namdev will be seen. This movie is a horror comedy drama movie.
